A new free course is being launched by CXK with the aim of supporting 16 to 19 year olds who are currently not in employment, education or training. ‘Elevate’ is a fifteen week course which has been specifically designed, as a result of feedback from local employers, to give participants work-ready skills and experience.
The fifteen week course consists of skills based sessions, team building and personal development, as well as experience from a choice of work environments.
Lizzie Gregory, Elevate course leader, said ‘We are really pleased to be offering this new course – participants will benefit from an increase in confidence and a boost in life skills. Those taking part will develop the skills and attitude needed to get ready to work, and be given the opportunity to identify areas of work that they personally may be interested in.’
The Elevate course starts on 2 March and will be held at the Salvation Army Centre, Whitehorse Lane, Canterbury, CT1 2RU. Attendees may be eligible for travel and meal subsidies, please enquire. For more information or to book on the Elevate course please email or call Team Leader Lizzie Gregory – elevate@cxk.org or 01233 224244
